Sue Shipley - Trainer
Houston dog trainer Sue Shipley operates with Invisible Fence. A dog lover since childhood, she has 15 years of experience in obedience training with in-home and group settings from beginner through advanced, as well as behavioral issues with dogs.
Sue has worked with expert trainers including K-9 Concepts in Michigan, and Extreme Dogs in Texas, as well as Invisible Fence training in Michigan and Texas. Sue normally offers a four to eight week program for basic obedience, starting with teaching owners how to let their dog know who is the "alpha" in the house, to "come" on command, as well as sit, stay, and heel on and off leash, and how to behave in public situations. She also discusses any behavioral issues that the dog(s) may have, and how to work though them to obtain proper behavior. She teaches behaviors with a dog's understanding in mind, and she use positive reinforcement, play, and praise reward to achieve that goal. Every dog is different, as every human is different, and she tries to use that understanding in her training process. Each training session is approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours long, and at the first session, she will discuss training tools that the customer should purchase.
Dog training isn't just a job for Sue – it's her life's work. More than anything, she wants every dog lover's relationship with their four-legged friend to be as fun and fulfilling as her own.
